Stock Trading As a Game

You know a lot of people go about trading in stocks the wrong way in my opinion. People often think of it as a way to make money, or sometimes a way to support a cause you believe in. Technically I suppose stock trading is about using excess wealth in a way that it is cycled back into the economy in an efficient manner. Really if you want to make money trading stocks you need to think of stocks in one way, as stock trading to win.

Then I guess that pulls us to our second debate, what exactly is winning? Well a to a lot of people it means a lot of things, but even if your cause is altruistic then you still need t make some money to support it. If you’re a environmentalist then maybe you don’t want to invest in an oil company, and instead invest in a renewable energy then pick a good renewable energy company, then you can make money and have more to invest.

I guess the basic moral of what I’m trying say is that you need to approach investing like you would a sport. Figure out your goal, pick a strategy to achieve that goal, and then stick to your game plan. That’s the only way you will reach your goals. Way too many people don’t pick a good plan, or if they do they don’t stick to it once they hit bump in the road. If you approach stock trading like a sport then you greatly improve your chances of “winning”.
